Proud heritage
Club MAC Alcudia is a first-rate family resort that’s based in the historic port town of Alcudia, in sunny Majorca. This Island has a proud history which dates back to Roman times, and signs of its vibrant past can still be spotted across Majorca to this very day.
The Island was a refuge for artists for hundreds of years. This allowed Majorca to develop a distinct artistic culture which produced breath-taking art, music and architecture that inspired some of the greatest creatives in history including Chopin, Ruben Dario, and Joan Miro.
Yannick & Ben Jakober Foundation
You can explore the Island’s unique artistic character by visiting the Yannick & Ben Jakober Foundation. Located in the serene parkland that lies on the outskirts of Alcudia, the Foundation is a non-profit cultural institution which was created in 1993.
The Foundation focuses on conserving and restoring Spanish heritage and landmarks while promoting the fine arts. It regularly hosts exhibitions of painting and sculpture, highlighting the art of the Balearic Islands and fostering artistic exchange.
It houses a variety of fascinating exhibits, including a Sculpture Park, SOKRATES space, Modern and Contemporary Art and the Nins Portraits of Children. These collections are open to the public every Tuesday; the same day you can visit the Sculpture Park and Nins Portraits of Children for free from 9:30 – 12:30 and 14:30 – 17:30. The museum also holds guided group tours from Wednesdays to Saturdays. However, you must contact the Foundation directly if you want to arrange a group tour.
